Voted 10/10 | Very good page with some fabulous pictures. The one in the overview is simply "too much beautiful". When you write "war caused very high level of (land ?) mines contamination" you mean that there is a concrete danger to suffer damages from a blast? I'm curious, about Genova cyclon. You know, I live in Genova, 600 Km far from Svilaja, and I'm argueing how my town can be linked to weather conditions in Croatia. I suppose there are no huts in that area, so it could be useful to know possibilities of board and lodging in the villages around Svilaja. Final consideration, war is the most stupid act the man can do! Cheers

Voted 10/10 | Hi cedad! I'll jump in to comment on Genoa bay low pressures. Genoa bay is famous for producing or deepening low pressure systems from unstable air that comes from Atlantic over the France (in most cases). Then those low pressure's move into Adriatic and cause lot of precipitation on the Croatian coast and bad weather in the mountains. Usually in winter that low pressure pulls the cold air from the NE and when that cold air meets moist air in the low pressure we can have lot of snow and very strong to hurricane force Bura (Bora). And I agree about the war! Front line was going partially over Svilaja so along it many mines were planted.

Voted 10/10 | Thanks Velebit, for your explanation. I know that a low pressure in the Genova bay produces haevy precipitations in the north section of Appennini and the west Alps because the strong winds get a lot of moisture from the warm Ligurian sea, but I couldn't suppose that it has effects even in the Balkan countries. The qusina's text and pictures increased my will to go there during summer holidays, let's say 50% sea and 50% mountains, but land mines are a big problem. How can I tell my wife and friends I will guide them in a beautiful environment where someone hid land mines? No one will come and I'm a little bit frightened.

Voted 10/10 | very beautiful place The mining situation is sad though. It seems like there is safe parts? What do you mean with "ambient will win your been"? One will surrender to the surroundings, because of his beauty/power?
