Should Granite Chief be added to area 3? It is often linked up with Tinkers Knob.

I thought about adding Granite Chief along with a few others in the area but decided against it because they are so far off Hwy 80. BTW, thanks for the vote.

Verdi, Ladybug, and Peavine Peaks about Verdi and Reno are still part of the Sierra. They all have roads to the tops, but offer a road hike or 4WD drive-up. Different and interesting views, one of the best of Interstate 80 from any peak (from Verdi Peak). Other peaks about there, too.

Peavine is being developed for recreation, with trailheads and access points. It is quite imposing as you motor into Reno.

More peaks past Reno, like the Pah Rahs, if you are into that.

Thats a good idea. I'll work on adding another section running from the Sierra Crest to approximately Verdi in Nevada. Thanks for the input.

I like what you are trying to do here. A good list of peaks that are a short distance from I-80. I've done Granite Chief, Mt. Rose and the Lolas and really enjoyed the area.

It may seem like a contrived list-but definately logical. Good job!

My grandparents live in Grass Valley, so this is where I spend most of my time peakbagging in the Sierras. I'm gonna try to tick off all these peaks by the time I graduate high school. 11 down!
