| Rob A | Nice.. | |
Voted 10/10 | ...I was hopeing some one would do this list. If you want the HTML code from either the Catskills or ADK 100 list let me know and it's yours. BTW does anyone consider MacNaughton, NY (4,000+ ft) a requirement for the NE 111 or 115 (116???) list. It is definitaly an interesting note that MacNaughton is forgotten by everybody. Later, Rob

Hasn't voted | Nope ... poor MacNaughton doesn't count for anything. However, most 46Rs/115ers do climb it because of its questionable status. Thanks for the HTML code offer, but right now I'm thinking I'm going to attach children and just let the "toolbar" be the chart.

| Catamount | Phase 1 | |
Hasn't voted | March 2 - Well, I certainly got a lot more done on this page in the last few days than I initially expected. I still have a lot of work though as the Adirondack and New Hampshire sections will be monsters. Don't look for anything more to go up within the next week. Comments and criticisms are appreciated. I'm trying to create a resource page here than can be used by 115er aspirants.

Voted 10/10 | 1. The Granite State is New Hampshire. I believe Maine is the Pine Tree State. 2. Old Speck is to the west and south, not east, of practically everything else in Maine. PS I don't know half the ranges on this page, but it looks like you're consistently using an image of the *second*-highest peak in each. Very refreshing.

Hasn't voted | Thanks nartreb. 1- Maine's mountains are sometimes referred to often as "The Granite Mountains" so that's where that came from. I guess I was trying to be cute and made a mistake as a result. 2- Big duh on Old Speck. Thanks for picking up on this and for actually taking the time to read my page!!! Also, I believe that may be your Hamlin photo. I love it. - Mark

Voted 10/10 | Thanks. I always found that photo a little hazy and the light a little flat, but I guess the haze adds a sense of distance. Old Speck is actually *in* the White Mountains, the AMC says it left it off that list because it's not in the White Mountain Natl Forest (and because it's in Maine). The Whites end at Grafton Notch, though there's some debate about exactly where to draw the line. After that, my map shows the name Blue Mountains, but that name seems to cover only an area southwest of Bigelow. The State of Maine officially declared all its mountains the "Longfellow Mountains", but nobody uses that name. "Granite Mountains" is new to me, though I don't get to Maine very often.

Hasn't voted | I first came across the term "The Granite Mountains" years back in Bruce Scofield's "High Peaks of the Northeast," which was my #1 resource book for years. I've seen it repeated a few other places but "Longfellow Mountains" is certainly far more common. Your photo really just captures the feel of the mountain to me. I don't have a trained eye like yours but I do know what I like. Thanks again.

| Catamount | Nearing completion | |
Hasn't voted | March 25 - I just have a few links to add at the bottom of the White Mountains section and then I'm done. This will be done within a day and then this bad boy is open for business. But more importantly ... Cornell 3 - Colorado College 2. We're in the final 8 with Wisconsin up tomorrow. At stake is a berth in the Frozen Four. Go Big Red.

Hasn't voted | This page is now complete. Comments, criticisms and corrections are most welcome. I'm striving for 100-percent accuracy so even the smallest things you may notice are worth pointing out. Thank you.

Voted 10/10 | OK, here you go: the cabin on Cabot is not an AMC hut, it's run by the Jefferson Boy Scouts. Also, the most popular (and shortest) trail now that most of the Cabot trail is closed is the Bunnell Notch trail from the east (though the KKRidge trail from the north is much more scenic). For Tripyramid, the Tripyramid Trail, a loop that includes both (all three) peaks and both slides, is probably the most popular route. It's long, and not a great idea in winter (the slides can be dangerous), but you haven't really climbed these peaks if you haven't hiked the slides.

Hasn't voted | Thanks once again for taking the time to review my work. It is truly appreciated. I will incorporate your corrections/clarifications at some point within the next day. I'd do it now except Cornell is wrapped up in a classic with Wisconsin ... scoreless at the end of two overtimes. - Mark (Edit: Corrections made; Cornell loses ... I think I'm going to cry.)

Voted 10/10 | I guess I need to climb a few more of these. Cannon doesn't count because I only climbed to the top of the cliff- never made it to the tippy top. Nice addition.

Hasn't voted | Thanks for the vote, desainme. That must have been an awesome climb of Cannon ... somehow I think your way must have been more difficult than my hike of the mountain. :-)

Hasn't voted | Oh yeah, it took awhile. But it was actually a lot of fun. I haven't hiked a lot of these mountains more than once, so it was cool to relive those hikes while writing about the mountains. Thanks for the vote.

| Rob A | Freaking Sweet!!!! | |
Voted 10/10 | The page is great. You should be proud that you have created the best page in the world with Information on the NE 115. Google shows this page as #2! It is an invaluable addition to SP. Good Job. It is pages like these that make SP the best website in the world. Now that you have written about all 115, you should sign all the summit logs!!! Later, Rob

Hasn't voted | Thanks, Rob. My goal was to create a definitive 115 page since no other comprehensive on-line sources exist for this particular list. Glad to see that you enjoyed the page. A quick couple of questions for you. Your "What's New in the East" page doesn't catch this nor do individual state searches. This is undoubtedly because I typed in the 4 states under Canadian Provinces. I tried but couldn't highlight more than one state at a time in the state section. Not a big deal since the page seems to be getting plenty of hits anyway, but how do I correct this? You've obvioulsy accomplished that on the A.T. page. Also, completely non-related, but what would you think of a Gunks mountain bike trip report on your Gunks page? I did Minnewaska last week and probably Mohonk tomorrow. It's a "climber" page and I can't decide if it would be a lame contribution or not. Be honest. No way am I going back to sign 100-plus climber logs!! :-) (Edit: language)

You've obvioulsy accomplished that on the A.T. page. Use the control key to highlight more that one state. So hold down the control key and click on NY contiue to hold control as you click on each state. but what would you think of a Gunks mountain bike trip report on your Gunks page? I did Minnewaska last week and probably Mohonk tomorrow. It's a "climber" page and I can't decide if it would be a lame-ass contribution or not. Be honest. I would say go right a head, it would provide a whole new view of the gunks for SPers. It is up to the members if it is "lame-ass" or not. And get some pictures, the gunks need pictures and I can't there before May. Later, Rob
