Hasn't voted | I've added distances and rough elevation gain. Hiking time is subjective. In the Whites we talk of "book time", which is a simple calculation from elevation and distance: 1/2 hr per mile plus 1/2 hr per 1000 ft of gain. Or you can use a hiking time estimator. | |

Voted 10/10 | Nice! I agree completely. Size matters not. Seriously, I've been thinking about lumping the Baldface Range in with the Carters. What think you? Oh, and NH, not Mass as has been amply noted. | |

Hasn't voted | The Baldface Range (or Baldface-Royce Range) is at least as long as the Carters, and separated by some ten miles or so (I had considered a western approach with a Carter Notch overnight, but decided it would take too long in winter). Then there's the Caribou Wilderness / Speckled Mountain Range.... These three ranges can stay lumped together on the White Mountains page, but I'd rather the Carter range page made geographic sense. | |
