Can you add some information on how to get to Balakot. Is there public transport from Chilas or Abbottabad for example? How long does it take to get from Rawalpindi or Gilgit to here? Do Jeeps need to be hired to reach the trailhead?
By the way, this mountain is actually in the North-West Frontier Province not the Northern Areas. The Northern Areas province starts at the Babusar Pass to the North. You need to change 'Location' from Punjab to NWFP as it refers to the mountain's location not yours. Cheers

You can reach Balakot by public transport which operates from Pir Vadhai Bus Stop in Rawalpindi. Public transport also runs from Abbotabad and from here its only 1.5 hrs. Coming from Chilas or Gilgit side public transport (NATCO Northern Area Transport Company) drops you at Mansehra from here you have to change bus to Balakot as it leaves to pindi while Balakot is just 1 hr from Mansehra on the other side. From Balakot jeeps are easily available till trail point Biari or any other place in kaghan valley. You are right about that mountain is NWFP, actually its my mistake we use slang of northern area for all the mountain areas in north in our language here. Technically speaking it is in NWFP District Mansehra. You should have voted man atleast you should give a high nine to a beginner.

As BigLee said, a good start about a peak in an area not so many climbers aim for. The Kaghan Valley is really beautiful and well worth a visit, even if not climbing.
It would be great if you made the links on the page "live"/clickable and also added some more info in the getting there section. It's an area which most people don't know much about. A description of a route on the peak would be extremely helpful.

Thanks for submitting this page. Nice work for your first page, good photos.

A few suggestions: the "Getting There" section is great, but I would split that up into several paragraphs with some white space between them to make it easier to read.

Do you have a map that you can mark up and submit? I have not been to Pakistan but know that its geography is wonderfully complex. It would be nice to see where this peak is located in context to other well-known summits.

Presumably this should be climbed in the summer months, but adding that information would be good.

For extra cedit how about some historical information? Were the Workmans there? Who made the first ascent?

Regards, Nelson

Mahlika Parbat it is beautiful peak, would be nice if you add full face picture of the mountain. If possible its high camps information, how many days it takes to climb this mountain, which seasons are best to climb, any how first time best job you have done.
