Hasn't voted | Good idea. Don't forget the Grand Traverse-North Traverse Peaks in the Gores. Anyway, I'm curious by the semi-technical/technical listings. Wouldn't that exclude all class 3 routes? I never have heard class 3 as being "semi-technical". | |

Hasn't voted | I'd always understood 3rd and 4th class to be semi-technical (harder than just normal walking) while 5th class was technical. In this case, technical means, requires climbing skills at some level. However, cutting out the 3rd class stuff would make this list a lot more managable. RE: the Wilson-El Diente traverse, I couldn't find which of the listed routes on either SP page was it. My original intention was for this to be a collaborative effort amongst everyone, but I've been unable to grant blanket edit permissions. I also mean to sort it by difficulty and/or geography. All projects for another day, I'm afraid. | |

Voted 10/10 | Nice start. Here are some other possibilities: Maroon Bells Traverse: Elks. Class 5.2 (about) Crestones Peak-Needle Traverse (or Needle to Peak): Sangres. Class 4 (though this doesn't spend much time on the actual ridge). Crestone Needle Ellingwood Arete: Sangres. 5.7. Mount Meeker: Meeker Ridge. Front. Class 3. Father Dyer Peak: NE Ridge. Tenmile/Mosquito. Class 3. Snowmass Mountain: "S" Ridge. Elks. Class 3-4. Hagerman Peak: SW Ridge. Elks. Class 3. Gore Range climbs: I am sure there are plenty of good ridge scrambles/climbs from this range to be included, though I have not been there yet. Also, noticed misspelling on "Ellingwood" on La Plata's Ellingwood Ridge. This list could be a good reference point for some future climbs... | |
