A bit short, but it isn't a grand mountain one can write very much about either. Anyway, I do like the tone of your writing. You really do like the mountain and the place, one can feel it through the text.
Eleutheros, it is everything you said it was. Unfortunately for my son in law and I, haze ruined the views towards Capitol Reef. We thought about going up from Snow Lake but a convention of ATV'ers kind of put a damper on that route but the trail turned out to be a perfect way to sample this mountain. I put up a "trail route" for it but it really is an amazing area. Thank you for posting it. We noticed this "mountainous plateau" from just about everywhere in southeastern utah along with the Boulder Mountain (Aquarius plateau) area. Unique.
Sorry to hear about the haze. The views toward Capitol Reef are the best part of the mountain. The access road through Snow Lake makes the eastern part of the mountain open season for ATVers, especially in summer - one reason why I prefer October or May to trek the area.
