Keep an eye, or possibly a toe, out for fulgurites in Great Sand Dunes. Fulgurites are tubes of sand welded together by lightning. They're hollow (I don't know why), with an inner surface of glass and an outer coating of sand grains. They vary in size, and often preserve the branching of the electrical stroke. They're very cool to find, but it's a National Park of course, so leave them be.

I missed this page last week, so thanks for the submission! I agree with BSIHLER; this page is especially welcome! Looks like you've polled more votes than my page, too ;)

It's worth noting that High Dune is a ranked Colorado peak according to the 300-foot rule.
