Voted 10/10 | I really enjoyed reading this page. I'm a student studying in southwest michigan but am originally from Oregon. Most summers I head west to get my climbing/backpacking fix for the year but this summer I will be in Michigan. I've thought of backpacking on Isle Royale this summer following a kayak expedition at Pictured Rocks and this page is causing my interest level to rise. Thanks for posting it. | |

Hasn't voted | Thanks for the kind words! Pictured Rocks is also wonderful, though I haven't yet kayaked there. My last hike there along the top of the cliff involved following fresh bear tracks -- on top of all the boot prints on the trail -- through dense shoulder-high brush, alone with my one-year-old son on my back. My son enjoyed the loud singing, at least. :) I prefer the mountains but variety is the spice of life! | |
