Hasn't voted | thank you John...that was a strange sight. Note the road in the background. Those oregon roads are paved but they are only one lane wide. My wife would freak out on that road but I got her a nice pair of shoes off the tree for her birthday present. : ) | |

Hasn't voted | There is a trailhead at the saddle NE of the Brandy Peak. It is signed Bear Ridge Trail. The trail skirts Brandy Peak on the east side and is shown on the 7.5' map. Even better, there is what looks like a fairly new trail branching off to Brandy. There is a small sign (looking very new) tacked the sawn end of a downed log at the junction. | |

Hasn't voted | Neat to see you doing the southern Oregon cohp's. I made mention of the trail (Bear Ridge) on the front page but wasn't aware of the additional one that goes direct to Brandy Peak. Of course, our weather was awful when we did it. Would you mind posting pics of the new sign that is up there and some of the shots showing the surrounding terrain? Your trip report is fun to read, so special to do trips like that with your son. Don Nelsen also found that TH but the pic with your son is priceless. Thanks for your comments. | |
