Is it legal to collect the fossils? I suspect it's not, but knowing that might be useful info on the page. Again, thanks. I'm really glad to see this mountain here.

Yes to my knowledge it is 100% legal to collect the fossils, it is BLM land. However, you are not to sell or barter fossils collected on public land. See here. Thanks for bringing this up.
