
Hasn't voted | It might be quite a bit faster and quicker to drive to a western roadhead for Lyon Peak (see Northern Sierra Peaks Guide), recalled now as the Tevis Cup trailhead, and hike over or around Lyon to get to Needle Peak. You'll need high clearance or 4WD for this, I remember, but although I had an extremely slow hiker with me, I did Lyon in only a few hours. I think I could probably do Lyon myself in an hour or a bit more. It's another 40 minutes (or less) then to get to Needle. All class 1-2. |
