I love the contrast Ive found to rolling hills on one side to ruggedness right over a pass. Much like West Maroon Pass up to it is a gentle ascending valley with wildflowers everywhere and then at the pass ~12.5K the other side is mostly rugged but equally beautiful. This place, as you mentioned is my kinda place. I'll just add that to my 'things to do in Wyoming list'- Thank you.
