to the Grand Sentinel in Banff NP...funny thing...I kept saying to myself, "my kids ran around saying turkey monster all the time didn't they?"....then it occured to me, Cookie Monster....was what it was...of course that takes on a whole new meaning on SP...we used to go camping with their cookie monster sleeping bags...fun times....cookie monster was the man back then....now that I am going to be a grandpa I will have to learn all the new kids stuff lingo in a few years....funny how the name of your feature can conjur up such memories...cheers

Hi Dow,
yeah - I do see a similarity to the GS. I suspect though that the rock on the Sentinel is much much better...Turkey is falling apart :)

Glad to re-ignite some old memories. I'm not sure where "Turkey Monster" name comes from. Would be interesting to find out.

Thank you for visiting!

You mean you can't see the "turkey" at the top of the tower?

Thank you very much Tanya.

We love Portland. But (gotta warn you :) it DOES take a bit of getting used to (weather that is).

That's why I want to go. I want to be on the beach and watch those storms come in. I love storms after living in the desert for most of my life.
