Voted 10/10 | Thanks for putting up this route page. Back in the day (May 1993), you could drive all the way to at least your WP 006 and the only thing that stopped us was an overgrown road, not any gate. I attempted this route of yours or some close facsimile of it with a friend. We only made it to about the Persis-Index saddle before losing time and motivation. Actually, I think we topped out on Pt. 5212 immediately SW of your WP 011. I think this is where the picture in the above link was taken. | |

Hasn't voted | That's a nice perspective of the West Ridge from Pt 5212. We climbed in the trees on the ridge crest, just right (south) of the clear section going up the ridge. I'm going to post a couple if pictures of the route north of the ridge on to the summit. (One is based on your Index picture from Persis--thanks!) If you had the key to that gate, a four wheel drive vehicle could still drive to WP 007 with possibly a couple of scratches. | |
