Nice page.

Here are some cool things to see in the range if your out that way again:

Paul Bunyan's Wood Pile is cool. It's a mass of columner jointing, similar to Devils Tower, but "laying down" and smaller. Quite neat.

Just to the SW of the Tintic Mountains is Desert Peak. Definately an undiscovered gem of a mountain. Lots of cool granite and it reminds me a lot of Joshua Tree, though unlike JT, no one goes out to Desert Mountain. It's one cool mountain. Check it out sometime.

Also some nice caves are in the Tintic Mountains.

PS, change mamy to many in the sentence:

as in mamy Utah areas

Good suggestions on the Wood Pile. It has now been added.
I was looking at that in a guide the other day.

Mamy is fixed. : )

I remember watching the sun set behind the Tintics from the top of Maple Mountain (I posted a not-so-great photo on the Maple Mtn. page) in the 80's and thinking I'd like to get there some time. Great job on this page! Mamy Thanks! :)

Thanks Tracy.....I sat atop the "Y" on tuesday and tried to pick out Boulter Peak and the Tintics from there. Not real easy. BTW, I now have Maple Mtn on my to do list along with Buckley Peak. What a great area.

I always wondered what that "Paul Bunyan's Wood Pile" was all about. That is a short-cut to get to Nephi; along that highway called the "Jericho Cut-Off." You make a left turn across from the Jericho Sand Dunes, in order to reach the "cut-off." Then,
it joins the eastbound road to Nephi, (Hwy 132). A great way to rejoin I-15,
if you are continuing south. I didn't realize there was so much
prior volcanic activity in that area. Has anybody been out to
Pavant Butte in the Black Rock Desert? I was wondering how close (last summer's) fire came to it. THANKS, Dean!!!
