The ChiefRe: Topping out?

Continue up past and left of the huge boulder, over the top and then walk off the back left and down, back to Saddlebag Lake. Or you can meandor down a tad and then right on Class III scree to the summit of NP.

This looks pretty awesome, and not too far from the road. Too bad that road gets closed a lot in winter (at least from what I hear). I absolutely agree with you about the pick shape. I generally prefer the rounded shape in general because I find it easier to remove.

It's mainly a late summer/fall gig. In the winter, lot's of locals skin up there and ski all three of these great couloirs.

Very nice Chief!! The first photo with you at the base of the route, it doesn't look like much. Then the second photo, really puts the route into perspective.
