North and east of Hwy 441 there are really only two massifs: LeConte and Guyot. Everything else is an arm, ridge, secondary summit or whatever attached to one of these (Maddron is connected to Guyot).
By convention -- a lousy standard but there it is -- all these things have their own names such as knobs, balds or even "mountain." They're often destinations, as Maddron can be.
You might start a discussion forum on the question, though I suspect we won't get much consensus. |
