Glad to see some classic pictures, or, perhaps your gear might need some updating?

Hi there,
well spotted, the fotos came from my archives and date between 1981 and 2003 so I suppose some gear must look dated. Not that it matters in this area as the first ascentionists probably had much more rudimentary stuf. I scanned them from old negatives to form a rock climbing addition to Stephen's existing Moelwyns page.

Excellent page Johnnie, great idea! I know this area well although I am yet to climb there. Plan to do a bit this summer though so I'm sure I'll be plundering your page for info!
Cheers

Thanks Dan, we love the area almost as much as Ogwen.
I saw your Cader Idris route page this morning, excellent Job. I've only been in the area a couple of times when I was doing a MLTB course over two long weekends in '98. We bivvied at Llyn Aran and did our night navigation exercise from there. The instructor was a wild looking character called Hugo if I recall, after the bivvy we went up Cader Idris from the other side and sat in the shelter in thick mist so didn't get much of a view.

Thanks, Cadair Idris is probably the mountain I've climbed most. Before I learnt to drive it was the only mountain I could get to and from home in a day. Funnily it's been misty most times I've been on the summit too.

Hi Jonnie, I was just having a read over your page (planning a trip there next week), and thought it should perhaps be renamed Tanygrisiau, with The Moelwyns Classic Rock Climbing Venue in brackets. It would give it more of a geographical basis, thereby making it easier to find and place on this site. What do you think?
Cheers

Hi Dan,
I've no problem with changing the title, I've maybe erroneously thought that the reservoir was called Tan y Grisiau but I guess I've not looked more closely at the maps. I will change it as you suggest.
cheers Johnnie
