Make that great, I mean. Impressive quality and quantity of work, and the first paragraph is a gem. Great addition, Dan.

Thanks very much Bob I enjoyed writing it. I hope to add quite a lot more to this area. Stephen's An Gearanach page is in the same range as Stob Bàn so I reckon an area page is in order.

Another great one Dan. Where do you find the time?!

Thanks very much Martyn. Finding time is easy - all you have to do is give up all non-essential activities like cooking, cleaning, decorating and fixing household objects. Well not really, Charlotte would kill me. Actually I've been putting this page together bit by bit since March, so I guess finding time is actually quite difficult!

Well...! Your pages always impress me and have inspired me on some of mine. Here is another top page to add to the list of UK summits.

Keep the good work up Dan.
David.

.page Dan. I've been keen to see which of the Mamores peaks you would add from your trip to Lochaber in February. Well worth the wait and probably one of the finest peaks in the area. By the way (thats a real Glaswegian comment that), did you ever catch the Gaelic programme Tir is Teanga (Landscape and Language) that was shown on BBC 2 Scotland last year? It had an excellent episode on Stob Ban and Ben Nevis.
Cheers

Cheers mate I'm glad you like it, even with the silly stereotype included. Please feel free to label me with any badly conceived Welsh stereotype you wish, god knows I deserve it. Didn't see that programme, but sounds interesting though, down here if we get a programme about language it'll usually be about Welsh. Which in all fairness is interesting too. What amazes me when I come to Scotland is that even though the names of things are spelt very similarly to Welsh they are so rarely pronounced the same. I must sound like a complete fool every time I try and pronounce a Gaelic name or word because inevitably try to pronounce it as I would Welsh. Which is going to sound silly to almost everyone, whether they speak Gaelic or not!

otherwise I'd have missed this great (as ever) page of yours. A little bit of envy wakes up in me seeing another ~1000m-yet-alpine-mountain... well, latitude makes difference :)

Thanks Peter! Smaller mountains can have their advantages, not taking several days to climb for instance. If you haven't been, I definately recommend visiting Scotland, the winters there can be awesome!

Nice write up Dan, The nearest I got to Stob Ban was when we were doing the Ring of Steall one February, unfortunately due to whiteout conditions I didn't even see it. Looks like a missed a treat.
cheers Johnnie

Thanks very much. Funnily enough I noticed the mountain while doing the Ring of Steall, and was so impressed by its appearance Ijust had to summit it. Well worth it I'd say.

MarcsoltanThe longest,

Voted 10/10

and the most engaing single sentence I have seen anywhere, atarts your introduction to your "Stob Ban" page. But, it certainly does not stop there.
Thanks Dan for producing such a great and informative page.
