| Kane | Hi Sarah | |
Voted 10/10 | This is a nice page for a peak that I have always wondered about. Now I know. Likely a nice winter option. Kane

Hasn't voted | Kane, We also had driven by this peak many times. We attempted N. Tarryall that morning and the snow was just too deep to bushwack with 3 leashed dogs. We turned tail and headed up Sugarloaf and were not the LEAST bit disapointed. This is a fun little mountain and very accessible in winter. (As you know, it's the potholes on Hwy 77 one needs to worry about...) Sarah

Voted 10/10 | Hi Sarah, Great page. Yet another Sugarloaf for SP! It is a common mountain name. Climb On! Patrick

Hasn't voted | Patrick, Yeah, I laughed to myself when I realized this is the 2nd Sugarloaf Mountain that I personally have submitted to SP (the other being in Chiricahua National Monument, AZ). There is also a Sugarloaf Peak not far from this one off (I believe) FS 211. Sugar overload! Sarah

Voted 10/10 | I have 2 Sugarloaf pages as well! One in Colorado and the other in Maryland. Sugarloaf in MD was a special place for me and the family when we were east coasters. Patrick

Voted 10/10 | Another excellent page, Sarah. Nicely done. I will be adding this to the list when we make our next trip into the area, hopefully soon. Thanks!

Hasn't voted | Jeremy, Yes, put this one on your list for the next visit to the Tarryall area. I'll get route info up ASAP. What a nice little peak this is. Sarah

| Jeremy Hakes | Common word | |
Voted 10/10 | sug·ar·loaf –noun, plural -loaves 1. a large, usually conical loaf or mass of hard refined sugar: the common form of household sugar until the mid-19th century. 2. anything resembling this in shape. No wonder so many mountains are called this.

Hasn't voted | LOL! Yeah, it seems ipossible to swing a stick anyplace in the US with mountains and not hit a sugarloaf. I guess that while our ancestors in the US were tough, rugged SOBs, they were not highly creative. (A river in Missouri called "Big River" comes to mind...) Sarah

Voted 10/10 | person, but with this featured page of yours, you just jarred my memory into Sugarloaf "lava dome" here in AZ. (Located in the San Francisco Peaks area, just north of Flagstaff.) I need to climb it as soon as possible. :)

Hasn't voted | Larry, LOL! Maybe it's time we make the North American Sugarloaves list! ...I think we'd have a lot of hiking to do. PS: Have you hiked this Sugarloaf in the Chiricahua? http://www.summitpost.org/mountain/rock/382908/Sugarloaf-Mountain.html Sarah Sarah

| lcarreau | Sarah ?? | |
Voted 10/10 | No offense, but I think I know what your name is by now. Hello! I think we had some dogs with us the last time we hiked the Chiricahua. For some reason, didn't make it to that Sugarloaf, but I was fasinated by the Wilderness of Rocks. Perhaps we should make a list of all the Mollies Nipples and Wilson Mountains following our Sugarloaves list? -Larry :)

Voted 10/10 | A nice bit of information and well laid out for a small page. We here in the UK have a small but very famous Sugar Loaf near Abergavenny in South Wales. Maybe create a page about the Sugar Loaf summits worldwide...! Cheers, David.

Hasn't voted | David, Thanks for the compliments on the page. This mountain is evidence that sometimes great things come in small packages. As for Wales? One of these days...the mountains of Wales look downright magical. Thanks, Sarah

Voted 10/10 | I can guess for the magical summits of Wales here in the UK you have taken a look at some of the Pages Nanuls and Myself have created. The Sugar Loaf near Abergavenny is almost identical in shape. See this link Sugar Loaf Near Abergavenny Cheers. David.

Hasn't voted | So, indeed, someday when I'm retired and have some time on my hands, I think I'll compile a "Sugarloaf Mountains of the World" list in SP. Some obsessed maniac in our community will surely summit them all within 18 months and right a trip report about the experience. Thanks for sharing your Sugarloaf page! -Sarah
