Hasn't voted | Thanks Bob. It is not a big mountain but it is a local favorite because it has a unique shape, interesting history and it was not easy to do until recently. It was considered a two day trip up until the last 10 years when the access by the valley of the birds was established. I climbed it in 1999 on my third try as the routes were convoluted and the descriptions were very vague before I started collecting pictures. Don Forest, who was the first person to climb all 54 of the 11,000 foot mountains in the Canadian rockies considered his climb of Devil's Head in 1974 to be a significant accomplishment. | |

Hasn't voted | Nice page Bill. I don't get to spend as much time in the Rockies as I'd like. Seeing some of that loose rock reminds me of some of my (limited) experiences. Palms get a little sweaty just thinking of it. Cheers. Colin | |
