This page replaces cp0915's old page, and I borrowed freely from his pics and descriptions.

Thanks for the stellar job! What a vast improvement. Can you drive me there on the next trip and provide hot towels and champagne? HAHA!

Again, this looks like you put some major time in on this page!

We had the tireless support of the Barnwell residents.
Thanks.

Well worth visiting, a beautiful mojave landscape. Went and wandered around on 5.11.9 and weather was warm w/ a cool breeze. Encountered a swarm of hundreds of bees just feet down the trail buzzing by 5 feet or so over my head. Guess they weren't africanized or else I would be very un-happy still. And encountered 3 desert tortoises.

Yikes! 5-11-09 must have been a bit warm!

The big cave on NCB has much evidence of animals gathering there to keep cool (use your imagination!).

heat has never really bothered me - to a point. once it hits 105+ i start to take notice, but up to then i seem to do ok so long as i stay hydrated. after 105 i start to get sluggish.

i didn't see that cave. think it is quite rude of the desert denizens doing there business in there tho. don't they know people might want to enjoy its cool and shade sometimes sans scat ? haha.
