I visited this place in winter (low grade ice climbing along the Idrijca stream).
I hadn't realized that the Dinaric Alps allready start around here.
Wouldn't you call them Dinaric Prealps at this point?

Idrijca is a good guess for the border between Alps and Dinarides. Regarding naming and classification, Gordan's page is very exact. I could attach this page to Golaki as well, but that page is quite poor.

Oh... So, while climbing I might have had one ice tool in the Dinarides, and one in the Alps!
Wow, I'll have to check that out.

The lake was not frozen, that I remember.

Yes, and then you wouldn't know where to publish the route - on Alps or on Dinarides page, ha, ha.

Well, regarding the border - May be Idrijca in the lower part - below Idrija town. The upper stream comes clearly from Trnovski gozd.
