Oisternig and Schönwipfel  Sucess!

Climbed two summits, Oisternig and Schönwipfel, during the day. First lots of high clouds but during the day the good weather reached us. Very cold on Oisternig, very sunny on Schönwipfel.

From the valley of Uqua  Sucess!

From southwest, from the parking place of Rif. Nordio Deffar. Though I didn't find there the mountain hut Nordio Deffar itself: perhaps it have been destroyed.

Skiing to Valle di Ugovizza  Sucess!

Why I'm allways late from home, when days are the shortest? I hardly got through crowded ski resorts, parked far below Osteria nel Camoscio and hurried up towards Lom saddle. The path from below it to Bistriška planina is just the opposite of what Bor described - he was joking, of course. A dense forrest with hard snow, luckilly this year there's really a lot of it. I overtook a few hikers with snowshoes, and negotiated the steep S slope of Ojstrnik directly. The ski track ended, so I walked up, but soon changed my mind. It still went better with skis. I was surprised to need almost 3 hours on top. Everybody already left, so I carefully prepared for skiing. The upper part is ideal, then a steep part comes, and below a pure joy - till the forrest. There it was a real struggle for some 250 meters of altitude, while below on forrest roads with almost two meters of snow it was just a poetry.

Route Climbed: From Valle di Ugovizza Date Climbed: The 8th of Januar 2005

Throught the Valle di Ugovizza on the Freistizer Alm but not enough time for the reaching the summit over the south slopes. But skiing in the forest back down below the Freistizer Alm was great! :-)
