These climbs are tougher than they look from below. The one on the left starts out pretty easy but then steepens dramatically before reaching a headwall, and the narrower variation to the right is steep just about the whole way. In early July 2010, I found the snow so hard-packed that the going was challenging even in crampons; glissading was difficult as well because the axe had a tough time biting into the icy snow.
