Old Main Couloir-- North (Variation)

This narrow variation to the right of the broad couloir on the north side of Old Main is steep just about the whole way.

In early July 2010, I found the snow so hard-packed that the going was challenging even in crampons; glissading was difficult as well because the axe had a tough time biting into the icy snow.
