On McTech Arete

On McTech Arete

Robert Meshew copes with the 5.10a crux of McTech Arete, a stunning "crag" climb in the Bugaboo Range. The pitch follows a hand and finger crack splitting a vertical slab.

thanks guys

Hey thanks everybody, it was a wild place to be. The first pitch directly below was awesome too, with a 5.9 hand jam hero overhang move. :D

Nice pic

There's not enough climbing pics on summitpost - it's nice to see good ones like this (and others of yours). I've climbed this route, and throughly enjoyed it. A good marginal weather route in the Bugs. Cheers!

Re: Nice pic

I had one hand in the crack and the other fumbling for the camera...just had to capture that dizzying view. I'd hike back up there just to repeat this route, it was so much fun!
