On Shimshal Whitehorn | [ Sizes: Orig | Large | Med | Small | Thumb ] |
Lee Harrison near the top of the 800m Couloir of 1000 gutters. Traversing towards me, the climbing is harder than it looks due to hard, sugary ice.
The peak on the left of the photo is Chu Kurrti Dast West (5685m). Yazghil Sar (5964m) is the peak in the background centre-right. The peaks on the horizen in the left are those lining the north side of the Virzherav Glacier, which form part of the Ghuzherav mountains extending to the Chinese border.

Hasn't voted | Thanks. I really like this photo as well and will probably get it blown up and framed at some point. We were actually making a big traverse at the time towards a col (from where the photo is taken from) having run in to poor ice up the left side. It proved an absolute epic traversing across numerous runnels and flutings but atleast we got a nice photo in the process!! | | Posted Jan 29, 2007 9:03 am |

Hasn't voted | I think it's actually steeper than it looks as you can't see all the runnels in this photo which made some sections quite difficult. Ice conditions were also pretty awful and very sugery and inconsistant. | | Posted Nov 19, 2007 5:47 pm |
