On the final ascent II

Approaching the most exposed part of the ridge. The snow slope dropped away abruptly to the north face. There was no margin for error. Fortunately the snow was just deep and soft enough to make the ascent easier. There was one semi-icy step, though. December 30, 2006. Photo by Mark Scherer.
