What a cracking day we had for a return to The Cobbler, this time with the kids. No intentions of descending without getting up on those summit rocks this time around though. 25/5/08. Comments[ Post a Comment ] | lcarreau | This is a | |
Voted 10/10 | 'cracking photo' of The Cobbler. What is a
cobbler? Is that the same as a baker? Or,
does it have to do with horses?
Look at that cloud hanging overhead. Awesome!
Okay, it's a shoemaker! This rocky outcrop
must bear a resemblance to a cobbler's bench!
I learned something! Great job, Stephen !!! | | Posted Aug 5, 2008 2:37 pm |

Hasn't voted | It sure was a 'cracking day' we had on The Cobbler, no lightning in sight. Had been before but hadn't climbed onto the summit rock, so was glad to do so. You're right, it does have a resemblence to a cobbler's bench when viewed from the correct angle. | | Posted Aug 5, 2008 6:12 pm |

Voted 10/10 | It doesn't look that hard, but I'm sure it's pretty gutsy climbing up there without ropes and gear. | | Posted Oct 7, 2008 6:40 pm |

Hasn't voted | Thanks. It is fairly straightforward on a nice day, but still a little bit nerve racking!
Cheers

Voted 10/10 | Great shot of the Cobbler. The day we were there we had sun, rain and snow--in late May! Turned back from a ropeless climb 15 feet short of the south summit as snow made thing rather greasy. | | Posted Nov 3, 2008 11:24 am |

Hasn't voted | Had a day with that type of weather here in late April 06. Actually had snow in June on a summit here this year. Got to love that Scottish weather! Cheers for the vote.
