The first canyon in the upper section of the Grains Gill | [ Sizes: Orig | Large | Med | Small | Thumb ] | |
The boulders are slippery from the water and vegetation, but there isn't all that much water flowing in the Grains Gill, making this particular canyon just a strenuous hike. My main concern was to try and stay out of water, because I didn't want to get my boots soaked. Apart from that, I also was careful where I put my feet because I didn't want to slip and hurt my ankles in the process. A few years earlier, I had slipped and broken one of them on much easier terrain, and that had taught me to be more focused. 24 May 2012. | Image Type(s): Hiking, Scenery, Panorama, Water, Canyoneering |
