Our Impromptu Bivy

[ Sizes: Orig | Large | Med | Small | Thumb ]
Our Impromptu Bivy
Kirk Alm none too pleased after spending a c-c-c-cold night at 8,800 ft on the NE Buttress. You can see where he is standing. Well, that was our bivy "ledge." Based on my pack thermometer, it got down to 30F that night, but it still went by quick despite slimsy sleep. With all my clothes on, I wormed my lower half into my backpack--one time where I was glad I had that hurcan thing with me. It is still the only impromptu bivy I've had to experience. July 6, 2002.
