Summit pack

Review

I like the pack. It stores pretty small and in nice and light. I would like it to compress down smaller for days when you are just taking a water bottle and an ice axe or trekking poles. They did come out with a newer version than the one I own, but the compression straps still look the same. You have to unthread them from a buckle to pull really tight. And the straps are very close to the buckles for the lid. That can be a pain when you pull the lid down low. With the flaws I pointed out, it is still one of the best designed summit packs I have seen. I can fit a 60m rope and climbing gear in it, if need be. I wish the back stiffener was a a little stiffer, but if it was it would not roll up as well.
