Product Description

Broken clouds and intermittent showers are no longer excuses for canceling your scrambles up local peaks. Montrail's CTC Mid XCR lightweight hiking shoe has a waterproof and breathable Gore-Tex membrane to optimize weather protection on slick trails and steep rock. Like Montrail's fair-weather Ventana hiking shoe, the CTC Mid XCR features sticky rubber Gryptonite GT and GS smearing pads for optimal traction, but the CTC Mid XCR holds the control and stability elements to higher standards with a narrower toe box and a medium volume fit that holds your foot firmly for exceptional control on technical terrain. If you feel the need to scramble or do light climbs in running shoes, Montrail's CTC Mid XCR has a better fit with significantly more traction on smooth surfaces. Other running shoes tend to use a harder compound rubber that works best on asphalt pavement--but the Gryptonite GT and GS sticky rubber lugs are all about keeping your grip on natural rocks in rain and shine.
