JanSport Klamath 78.

The JansportĀ® Klamath 78 pack is sized to let you wander a week and built to carry the load in comfort--an outstanding pack for the price! HDPE frame sheets combines with an aluminum-stay system to transfer the weight from your back and shoulders to your hips for easier carrying.

Features

Two convenient fabric side pockets carry a quart-sized water bottle each (sold separately); or remove them for a sleek pack and save 6 oz. each. Handy extendable lid detaches to become a waistpack; topside bungee system provides a quick stashing place for a helmet or fleece vest. Pack capacity is sufficient for five-to-seven day outings.

Includes a hydration sleeve and toggle for hanging Jansport/NalgeneĀ® water reservoir, sold separately. Sleeping bag compartment lets you stuff your bag directly into the pack without a stuff sack; shares a zip-out separator with the main compartment.

Two-level front pocket system features an organizer for pens and postcards and a key keeper. Features dual side-compression straps, ice axe loop, sleeping pad lashing straps and glow-in-the-dark zipper pulls. Overstock

My first pack
I have nothing to compare it to but with 35 pounds of gear I climbed through snow, above 13k feet and the pack was comfortable and there is plenty of room in the pack
