Product Description

Save the weight of a second full diameter rappel rope with this 6 millimeter retrieval cord from Imlay. After setting the rope length and blocking the rope at the anchor, tie the pull cord to the tail of the rappel rope and you have a way to retrieve it when you’re done with your rappel. It can also be used for hauling. Its rated strength is 2200 lbs.—not strong enough to rappel with.

After setting up for a single strand rappel, just tie this stiff pull cord with an overhand knot to the non-load strand of your rappel rope and you’re good to go. For rope management purposes your best bet is to use a small rope bag to work out of since this cord is very stiff and you would have tangles galore trying to coil it. Imlay makes such a “bagette” specifically sized for this cord.
