Spot GPS uses the Global Positioning System satellite network to acquire coordinates and then sending its location with a link to Google Maps and a pre-programmed message via a commercial satellite network. Spot does more than just call for help. Tracking your progress, checking in with loved ones, and non-emergency assistance are also available, all at the push of a button. Using 100% satellite technology, it works around the world even where cell phones do not. This personal tracking device sends messages via satellite to cell phones and email addresses. In each message, the spot gps navigation coordinates are included along with a link to Google maps. GPS Navigation coordinates are accurate to within a 20 feet radius. A satellite service subscription is required for use and is purchased separately.
