A great ultralight backup light, the Ion is compact enough to easily fit in a summit pack yet has a strong enough output to help aid in descents if needed. Frankly it is just a back-up light. Throw in in your pack and forget its there until you need it. If you are planning on using this light in anything but a back-up role please reconsider and buy an additional light for that purpose.


This light fits nicely on Black Diamond's helmets as well as the user's head with or without cap. It stays in place nicely and is so light weight it's hardly noticed.
