| Edward Earl's driving directions shown on the County Highpointers website were excellent, although my distances were slightly different than his. The summit hike is very straightforward. Fog and drizzle ruined any possibility of outward views. I reached the summit right before sunset. I had heard of a summit register there in the past and I touched every possible highpoint location, but I was so busy trying to take photos and get back to the car before everything turned dark that I neglected to look for a summit register (if it is even still there). The final side-road was drivable by my compact vehicle, despite what some people have implied, and I turned around at the flat grassy area beyond the minor saddle without any complications. This was my 34th Washington CoHP. |
