Panorama of the

Panorama of the "Saddle",...

Panorama of the "Saddle", Everest and Nupste approaching sunset. What is known as the "Saddle" is in the centre just a little to the left. Everest is The dark triangle just right of centre. Nupste is the jagged peak on the right that appears to be the highest point from this vantage point. The Glacier of Pumori is on the far left hand side. If you crossed over the "Saddle" or "Lo La" you would be in occupied Tibet (China). William Marler, from Kala Pataar in Feb 1986. Kodachrome 25. Pentax Spotmatic F. Tripod.

Yes, poster material.

GREAT shot William. Better than most of the posters I have seen from this vantage. By the way, a bit of Occupied Tibet / China is visible in the center of the photo, right? Changtse, "North Peak".

Re: Yes, poster material.

Nelson. Yes you are right. They are there on the other side of "Lo la" (if I have spelled it right). Cheers William

Re: Kodachrome 25 ??!!

Thanks for the comments. But I don't consider myself a great photographer. I only pointed the camera and hoped for the best. Sometimes it worked. Thanks again and Cheers William

I will see what I can do. I will have to find the original scan. May take a few days. Cheers Bill

Re: Kodachrome 25 ??!!

Just posted a bigger file. Hope this helps. It is from 2 slides so it is not super sharp. I did not get a professional scan back in 2003. Cheers William

THE BEST EVER!!

This has to be the most comprehensive, detailed shot of this region that I have ever seen, bar none!
