| Highpoint #19, as sort of a consolation prize. Woke up in Leadville, CO, looked out the hotel room window at where Mt. Elbert was the night before and saw snow - no mountain! Figured I'd rather come back someday for the views from Mt. Elbert. Didn't see a single bison here, unfortunately. | ||

| I drove to the summit, following the excellent directions from this website. The farm roads are all in excellent shape- wide and not too bumpy, but you can not drive too fast. I got a certifiacte from the Chamber of Commerce in Kimball certifying that I visited the highest point in Nebraska. Kim, in the office, is a very nice and welcoming lady. I love the people of Nebraska. | ||

| No one around for miles! Very peaceful and very green. Windy with the threat of a storm. Earlier rain made the road too muddy to drive so a quick jog to the marker and back helped me stretch my legs after driving down from climbing Harney Peak in South Dakota. Lovely! | ||

| I thought this highpoint was awesome. It was a very beautiful still evening when we visited. Amazingly quiet. It felt like we were the only people around for miles. Wouldn't want to be out there in a storm though. | ||

| Reached my fourth state highpoint around 11pm on a cold night after driving from Lawrence KS and "summitting" Mt Sunflower earlier in the day. | ||

| Have lived just 45 minutes from this high point for 6 months and just finally stopped by. There was a herd of antelope running off as I reached the top, in addition the the ever preasent buffalo. Glad I made it here and only 46 more to go! | ||

| This one gets dogged at times, but I liked it. The view was good (especially the distant Rocky Mountains to the SW). The buffalo were interesting. Finally, there's something humbling about these Plains Highpoints. They seem so remote, that I get a real sense of gloom and reverence from them. Must be the wind. | ||

| I actually got my car stuck in the mud on the approach road on this one :-). The rain stopped and we were greeted with a really nice rainbow... so I guess the 2 hour diversion and the "climb" was worth it. | ||

| I am a highpointer. I have done 21 highpoints at this point. The highpoint trail is 1.3 miles long, and I ran up the whole way, which took me a little over 9 minutes. The view at the top of the highpoint is nice. I could just barely make out the Rocky Mountains to the Southwest. There is a Bison ranch below the highpoint, with a bunch of Bison. At some point in the recent past, they were on the trail to the highpoint, going to the bathroom. Maybe the trail is where they go to use the bathroom? This was my 14th highpoint. | ||
