Paperflower

Paperflower

Paperflower (Psilostrophe cooperi) photographed in Pine Creek area of Red rocks, Nevada in June 2008. Mt. Wilson is in the background. Psilostrophe cooperi is a small shrub and it only grows to about 20 inches (50 cm). The flowers are vivid yellow, but become papery and pale as they age.

Re: Nice picture

Thank you for the nice comment. It is always so pleasant to hike through the desert in the light wind. The flowers are enjoying the breezes as well I'm sure.
Regards, Anya.
