Overview
A relatively easy hike in the Snoqualmie Valley, it's a very underused mountain when compared to other I-90 corridor peaks such as Mt. Si or Mailbox. The approach is easy, with a gentle hike in, then the trail turns quickly into a climbers trail heading nearly straight up. The peak offers a great view of the Alpine Lakes Wilderness and the overall valley up to Snoqualmie Pass.
Getting There
Take I-90 east from Seattle to exit 45. Cross north under the freeway and head west 3.8 miles to an obvious parking lot / trailhead (Mason Lake TH).
Red Tape
Parking requires Northwest Forest Pass. Dogs are not recommended.
When To Climb
A great hike year round. The winter offers snow cover above Mason Lake, but beware of cornice on the final summit portion of the hike. Summer is great also, just be prepared for some bugs.
Camping
Follow regulations in Mount Baker-Snoqalmie National Forest.
Mountain Conditions
Check with NOAA forecasts for western Cascades or Snoqalmie Pass.
