Approach

Park at the Golden Cliffs climbers parking (see Getting There in main text) and proceed up the trail to the base of the cliffs.

The route is visible from the parking lot but may be difficult to discern. Once you reach the bottom of the cliffs head to the left. After about 30 feet you are there. This route is on the corner of a west facing wall.

This is the route featured on the cover of the Falcon Guide, Classic Rock Climbs No. 17 Golden Cliffs.

Route Description

5 bolts plus a two bolt anchor.

This is one of the more difficult and classic routes at Golden Cliffs. It is part of the Overhang Area and has two overhangs to be negotiated. The first is minor but the second is a significant roof. Some people place an additional nut directly under the roof because footholds are scarce there.

Follow the bolts. The roof is pulled on the right side.

Essential Gear

Just quickdraws.
