Stratification:

Stratification comes from the latin for 'Made in layers'.
Stratification is the layered structure formed by the deposition of sedimentary (and some igneous) rocks. These sediments are deposited horizontally, although the layers may later be tilted or folded by internal earth forces.

Stratification is an element everybody who climbs/hikes in mountains has experienced some or many times.
Stratification can make some amazing sights in the mountains. Some layers are tilted in all kinds of directions. some look like waves (anticlines & synclines) and some are completely horizontal or vertical.
