OverviewThere are no trails other than braided and fading game trails. This is mostly a bushwhack over rolling terrain with an occasional talus slope and rock band to negotiate. The route-finding is fairly simple though.
From the north-side approach, leave the hairpin parking spot and walk up the road about 20 feet before heading south through a small saddle. Continue southerly for about 2 miles to the rock. You will encounter another large summit along the way but continue past it - Whitestone Rock is the next feature south and is hidden by this one until within a half a mile from its base.
Route DescriptionThe route follows the NW ridge. If it's wet, take a line that avoids the rock as much as possible - it's very slick when wet. There are one or two short sections of class 2/3 that require hands but mostly it's just a steep hike.
