| JonBradford | Neat highpoint of the Rabbit Ears Range ![]() Date Climbed: Sep 18, 2011 | |
| A neat mountain. In one of the few east to west trending ranges in Colorado. The first snowfall of the season graced the upper slopes. Fire Lookout was nice. Graffiti there was not. Beautiful day. | ||

| I combined this with a trip to the Arapahoe Wildlife Refuge in North Park. The views were fantastic and the other peaks in the area made me want to return some day. | ||

| 4-wheeled up Mulstay Creek Rd as far as we could(about a mile and a half from the highway)then hiked another 2 and a half before postholing-out in a snow squall at about 10,800'. Maybe just as well as the weather got progressively worse on the mountain. Mucho snow from about 9,600. Will try again in June or July. | ||

| This is a gentle giant of a mountain. Very beautiful and secluded. There is something of a surprise on top at the end of the curvaceous summit ridgeline. | ||

| June 4 2009 Today our project was shut down early because of fear of the weather forecast and I thought it would be a good day to take half a day off work and climb Parkview Mountain on my way to take some pictures of a project. I climbed the NE Ridge of the mountain from near Willow Creek Pass and was near 11,000 feet at the mine and cirque before getting a phone call saying that I was needed in Granby. The weather was perfect. Frustrated and none too happy, I turned around and headed back down the mountain and back to work. June 6 2003 Climbed via the NE Ridge in bad weather. It was cold and snowy, but not dangerous because there was no lightning. March 14 2003 Nice solo winter climb while working in Kremmling. Stayed on the spurs to avoid any avalanche danger. Went up spur NE of summit and above mine and down the NE Ridge. | ||

| The geology and mineralization of Parkview Mountain was the subject of my Masters Thesis at Colorado State University. In the course of my mapping and sampling, I climbed every ridge and every cirque wall on the mountain - many several times. I did not even keep track of how many times I visited the summit. I spent four or five nights on the summit in the old lookout while mapping on the west and southwest sides of the peak. I was normally alone, but on several occasions had other geologists with me. In the fall when all was finished Moni joined me for a climb of the East Ridge. | ||
