| Boriss (ECU) and I started at 10:30 am from the Amaguaña gas station. We got a quick ride on the back of a pick up truck, we didn't know the driver was totally drunk. Was a nice climb I enjoy it a lot and most our new friend a doggy that come with us all the way. We climbed the very true summit of Pasochoa (4,230 m/13,878 ft). | |

| Andreea (ROM) and I started at 10:30 am from the Amaguaña gas station. We got a quick ride on the back of a pick up truck, we didn't know the driver was totally drunk, it was a supersonic ride!. We got dropped off 4 kms before getting to the hydroelectric plant where we found a nice white doggie who chased us up to the very true summit of Pasochoa (4,230 m/13,878 ft). Andreea an I got there at 1:20 pm.. Nice weather with a few clouds rolling in from time to time. We hitchhiked back to Quito in the back of other truck. | |

| The first part of the trail -which started from the hydroelectric plant- was made in a sunny morning. Once I got the summit, it became cloudy after that a heavy rain left myself completly muddy, but happy.. | |

| Started from the hydroelectric plant (3,300 m/10,700 ft) at 10:00 am. It was tough to get to the Trailhead due to construction on the road. Once at the TH we headed straigh up and across farm lands. Continued on the road until the base of the mountain and then I hiked up towards the highest summit (4,230 m/13,878 ft). Easy last scrambles to the top. Spent a few minutes at its top with a couple of friends (Diego and Victor) and then headed down towards the second highest summit to meet with Edgar and his Swiss clients. Nice views of Cotopaxi and surroundings. Got back to the car 10 minutes before a heavy rain approached. Got in the car completely wet. I went back to Quito soon after. | |

| Light afternoon rainfall to cool the 4hr hike. 3500' elevation gain, crater rim climbed to the summit, very-very scenic with the lush green hillside flora on the knife-edge ridgeline next to the ground fog in the valley. A special treat to see pre-Colombian native plants in the Pasochoa forest such as Pumamaqui, Polyapis, Podocarpus, and Sandlewood trees. | |

| Climbed with my partners Axe and Bill562. We climbed the second false summit then realized that ´that peak over there looks taller´ so we climbed it also. It was taller by over 100 feet. A beautiful day with semi clear views of the bigger mountains. It was a great start to our trip to get some altitude time. | |

| I was climbing pasochoa before I climbed Cotopaxi. I was with a couple friends I met in Quito. It was a beautiful day when we started out, but near the top it started storming like crazy. The lightning was striking the ground near us and making me go deaf. It rained so hard that the trail was now a river. We 'swam' back to the trailhead and waited hours until the electricity came back on so we could call a taxi to get us back into the city. I had to take my soaked shirt off and lets just say, I don't think the native Ecuadorians were used to nipple piercings;) | |

| Easy walk through high grass, whith Julio Mesias ( guide ) and Allan Jackson ( USA ) . Cloudy, but nice trip from Quito to the foot of the mountain, could see Antisana and bottom of Cotopaxi . | ||

| Acclimitization hike for bigger mountains. Relatively easy, in my typical fashion, no summit register but I did get to have a bit to eat at the crossed ski poles. Visibility was low, and nothing else was visible from the summit. | |

| Climbed from the north side, starting from the Nature Preserve visitor´s center, thinking that this was the normal route. As a result of our confusion, instead an easy 2-3 hour acclimatization hike, we thrashed our way up a 1,600m ascent, including a very wet 50m of class 5 rock and 70 degree mud. The descent of this section may turn out to be the most technically challenging of the entire trip. Definitely not the acclimatization hike that I was hoping for. The weather was horrible with almost no visibility and periods of rain. We definitely reached a high point on the crater rim, but I´m not sure if this was the true summit due to the poor visibility. | |
