Pelkhu Tso is a large salt lake located north of Sisha Pangma (8027m) and Gang Benchen (7299m). It drains the glaciers of the northern Langtang Himal located on the Tibetan side of the Himalaya, including the massif around Chalung Ri, an unclimbed 6767m high peak, which can be seen in the centre-left of the picture.

Picture taken from the NE shore of Pelkhu Tso near the village of Lawu, looking SW.
